Community Dental Services CIC (CDS) is an award-winning employee owned, social enterprise. We are a referral only dental service, bringing high quality oral health care to people who cannot be treated in general dental practice; our patients typically have learning disabilities, mental health issues or severe anxiety, or are in situations or locations that traditional dental services cannot reach. We are also contracted to provide oral health improvement programmes. In our latest NHS Friends and Family Survey CDS scored 99%.

Our social purpose is to improve quality of life through excellent oral health care across all the communities we serve.

We are dentally led as the majority of our Board Members have a dental background.  This ensures that the strategic decisions we make are in the best interests of patient care. CDS is 100% employee owned, with each employee holding a £1 share in the organisation. Employees are actively engaged in how we are run through representation on our Board and through our Employee Forums. As a social enterprise, we extend our reach beyond the clinic to support people in the local communities where we operate.

“We always give a warming smile to put our patients at ease; we ask how they are, give positive reassurance and a hand to hold if they feel upset, but above all, we listen.”
