Operations Manager – Prisons HMP Dental Services (Herts, Norfolk and Lincs) 12 Months Fixed Term, Full Time

Hours: 37.5 hours, 5 days per week

Base: CDS HMP Base (to be agreed) and Remote/Agile Working

Salary: £35,392 – £42,618 per annum

Community Dental Services CIC are looking for an Operational Manager who identifies with our values as a Social Enterprise to manage the dental services prison contracts for Hertfordshire, Norfolk and Lincolnshire. The prisons in each area are as follows:

  • Hertfordshire – HMP The Mount
  • Norfolk – HMP Norwich, HMP Wayland and HMP Bure
  • Lincolnshire – HMP North Sea Camp

Main duties of the job

You will work closely with the Strategic Operations Lead and Prison Senior Operations team to play a key role to ensure effective operational management of the service. You will be able to support, facilitate and monitor progress of contracts and initiate performance improvement.

The postholder will establish and maintain effective working relationships with the main healthcare providers, prison healthcare and governors and develop strong relationships with the wider dental team enabling employee participation in CDS CIC and with the organisation’s corporate directorates to ensure that current and new business opportunities are scoped and supported through from tendering to service implementation.

You will line manage both clinical and non-clinical employees to enable support for the contract and will be required to demonstrate operational/business management knowledge and experience.

As you will be expected to provide support to HMPs in Hertfordshire, Norfolk and Lincolnshire, the ability to visit all bases is essential.

All prison sites offer NHS dental care.

Enhanced DBS and the ability to meet Ministry of Justice clearance will be required.
